My First Game Jam Summer 2021 - Day 4 of Jam
Today we met up to talk about where we need to go forward with this game. We discussed how we wanted to
-Design Enemies
-Handle NPC Interactions
-How we want Enemies to work
-How we want Combat to work
We set individual goals to work on. The artists wanted to work more on NPCs, The world, and the animations. I decided to integrate our Dialogue system into a NPC system, where when you are in range of a NPC, a Question mark appears to signify you can talk to them, after wards when you press enter, you can start a dialogue with said NPC. Now that I have this done I will start working on Enemies and Combat and think about a system that is able to tell if you killed all the enemies in a room, so once you have killed all the enemies, a new door will open. We plan to have 2 types of enemies, one enemy who has slightly more health, slower, and uses physical combat, and another that uses ranged combat, less health, and can attack faster. So far, I think we have made good progress in the Jam as once I complete the Combat and enemy system, we will have developed the main game play feature we set ourselves to make, and we can start building our game up from a demo into a proper game. since the jam is about 2 weeks long, I think at the pace we are going we will have a decent finished product by the end.
